What is It?

EBOO stands for extracorporeal blood oxygenation & ozonation. Ozone dialysis and recirculatory hemoperfusion (RHP) are other common names for it. In a nutshell, the process of EBOO therapy passively exposes your blood to ozone treating up to half your blood volume. It’s often called ozone dialysis because the blood is passed through a dialysis membrane where the ozone is.

Recent research has advanced our understanding of how ozone therapy improves the performance, biochemical, and immune functions of the body. A study done at the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 found that the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood increased in patients receiving EBOO which means increased antioxidants in the blood.

Who can benefit from EBOO?

EBOO is a comprehensive treatment that many people can benefit from and is not limited to treating medical conditions.
However, patients with the following conditions often see improvement through ozone therapy:

  • Lyme disease
  • Chronic inflammation and pain
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Mold and mycotoxin illness
  • Chronic Viruses
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Shingles
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Cardiovascular and circulatory disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Hypertension
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • HIV
  • Hepatitis
  • Herpes
  • Chemical sensitivity
  • Macular degeneration
  • Chronic bladder conditions
  • Crohn’s disease
  • Colitis
  • Eczema and psoriasis
  • Lipid disorders

What’s the difference?

The main difference between EBOO and other ozone therapies is the volume of blood treated per session and the amount of ozone administered. The more blood that is oxygenated the better overall outcome. Energy improves, symptoms decrease, and performance is enhanced. Patients have also said that EBOO is tolerated better than a 10-pass treatment. This is likely due to the fact that the blood is pumped through the system and is more in harmony with the body’s pumping of the heart.

EBOO is a proven preventative treatment.

How is EBOO therapy administered?

This is a non-invasive medical treatment that helps to heal the body from the inside out. After an initial intake with Dr. Laura to determine if you’re a candidate for EBOO, the therapy can be administered in the office the same day. To start, you are connected to two IV catheters (yes, it requires two good veins). The blood is then pumped out of the body to an ozone safe dialysis tube where the ozone gas is infused. The blood takes up as much ozone as possible and is then returned to your body. The treatment and intake process is 90 minutes. After the initial intake, treatments on their own last 60 minutes.
