Ozone Therapies

All of our Ozone Therapies are part of our holistic treatment approach for our patients. They are not single, one-time treatments. At our appointment together, we will discuss which therapies are right for you.

Who is a good candidate for ozone?

This is determined at your initial intake appointment. While for most people ozone is a very beneficial therapy, in some cases it is suggested to prepare the patient for the treatment. For example ensuring the pathways for elimination are functioning in a healthy manner or ruling out any contraindications.

How do I prepare for my ozone treatment?

Hydrating the day before and morning of the treatment is essential for accessing the veins. Doing some light exercise before also helps. Eating a light meal beforehand is recommended.

How many treatments do I need?

This depends upon what is trying to be achieved with the treatments. Some patients benefit from more frequent treatments in the beginning which helps to accelerate the healing process. Other patients get ozone as a maintenance treatment and this might be once a month or once every couple of months. This is determined at your initial new patient visit and follow-up visits.

Can I just get one ozone treatment?

A decision will be made at your initial appointment to determine the plan of action most effective for your and your health concerns. Ozone treatments are just one of the many tools Dr. Enfield offers at her clinic to address your health challenges.

Do I need to be an established patient for ozone treatments?

Yes, Dr. Enfield needs to get your history, background and rule out any contraindications to ensure you are a good candidate and also to monitor your progress in treatment and improvement.

Do I need to have blood work before getting ozone treatments?

Yes, Dr. Enfield will want to see a thyroid panel, CBC, comp metabolic, iron panel and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase prior to ozone treatments. A blood panel is then repeated every 5 ozone treatments to ensure the treatments are supporting your health goals.

Are there any side effects to getting an ozone treatment?

Ozone can cause a detox reaction sometimes known as a Herxheimer reaction. Dr. Enfield prepares her patients so they don’t have this response – which is why we establish you as a patient. Dr. Enfield works to ensure you have the best outcome possible.

What is the difference between a 10-pass ozone treatment and EBOO?

There are several differences between the two treatments. The type of treatment you receive will be determined in your initial intake appointment.

With a 10-pass ozone treatment the number of passes can be adjusted from 1 to 10 which allows for more flexibility with prices and tolerance to treatment. It requires one good vein to access. The system is under hyperbaric pressure which means a vacuum is used to move the blood from the body to the sterile IV bottle.

EBOO is a fixed price and time. It requires two good veins to access and can be a gentler treatment because it is not under pressure – it uses a pumping action to move the blood which is more in tune with the body’s natural pumping of blood. It delivers a higher concentration of ozone to the body versus the 10 pass.
